Pace, CTA, Metra offering free rides for New Year's Eve

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The CTA, Metra, and Pace all are offering free rides for New Year's Eve.

For CTA passengers, rides will be free starting at 10 p.m. on Saturday through 4 a.m. on Sunday.

Metra will begin offering free rides for all trains arriving at or departing from its downtown Chiago stations after 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Metra will be running a Saturday schedule, but will hold the last outbound trains until at least 1:15 a.m., so people can celebrate at midnight and catch a Metra ride home.

Pace buses and ADA paratransit rides will be free from 11 p.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday.

Pace reminds customers bus service is limited during those hours, but ADA paratransit service operates 24/7 in the city of Chicago.
