Mother And Son Arrested For Drunk Driving

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- A mother and son were both charged with DUI in west suburban Naperville earlier this month after the man got stuck in a snowdrift while allegedly driving drunk and called his mother for help.

Dimitriy V. Nosenko, 20, and his mother, Natalya P. Nosenko, 42, of the 1300 block of Monmouth Avenue in Naperville, both face trial in DuPage County Circuit Court on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Naperville police reports and court records.

The Nosenkos' misadventure started shortly after 1 a.m. March 6, police reports indicated.

Sgt. Bill Davis confirmed a patrol officer was sent that morning to the 900 block of Mill Race Lane. That is near the Farmstead Swim & Racquet Club in the Signal Point neighborhood, only a short distance west of the Nosenko home.

Davis said police went there to investigate a report of a gray, 2011 Toyota Corolla "stuck in a snowbank." Dimitriy Nosenko, who had been driving the car, "was found to be under the influence, and was arrested," Davis wrote in an email.

"The other subject, Natalya Nosenko, was at home when she got a call from Dimitriy to come and assist him getting his vehicle unstuck," Davis said.

Natayla Nosenko then drove a gray, 2012 Honda van "out to the scene to assist," Davis said. "She was also found to be DUI and was subsequently arrested."

Police charged Dimitriy Nosenko with two counts of DUI and one of improper lane use, court records showed. Natalya Nosenko was charged with DUI, driving without insurance and stopping, parking or standing on a roadway, according to records.

An examination of DuPage County court documents revealed Dimitriy Nosenko was placed on supervision in August 2011, after having been ticketed a month earlier by Naperville police for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Natalya Nosenko's only prior brushes with the law were two speeding tickets she received in DuPage County. Neither she nor her son has a record in Kane County or Will County.

Both Natalya Nosenko and Dimitriy Nosenko are free on bond. Dimitriy Nosenko is scheduled to appear April 15 in court, while his mother's preliminary court date is pending.
