Metra Union Pacific-West Trains Halted After Woman Is Hit, Killed By Train In Villa Park

VILLA PARK, Ill. (CBS) -- Metra Union Pacific-West trains were halted in the western suburbs Tuesday afternoon after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a train.

Train No. 47 on the line struck a pedestrian at 349 N. Ardmore Ave. in Villa Park.

Villa Park police said the pedestrian was a woman in her mid-20s and was killed.

Metra said as of around 6 p.m., all trains were halted near Villa Park and extensive delays were expected.
