Pedestrian killed after being hit by Metra train in River Grove

Metra trains on the North Central Service line were running with delays on Monday evening, after a pedestrian was struck by a train near River Grove.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. Trains were halted for more than an hours after the accident, but resumed service with extensive delays for some trains.

Metra said the pedestrian was struck and killed by a train that was on its way to Antioch. No further information about the incident was immediately available.
