Metra Train Strikes Pedestrian Near Glen Ellyn; Extensive Delays On Union Pacific West Line

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A person was struck by a Metra Union Pacific West train Monday morning near the Glen Ellyn station. Union Pacific West trains were running with extensive delays after the accident.

An inbound UP West line train hit a pedestrian around 5:20 a.m. near the Glen Ellyn station, according to Metra.

The pedestrian's condition was not immediately available.

All inbound and outbound trains were temporarily halted after the accident, but one track has since reopened.

At least three inbound and three outbound Union Pacific West trains were canceled, and others were running with extensive delays, according to Metra.
