Metra train hits truck in Chicago's southwest suburbs, causing delays

A Metra train was stopped in Chicago's southwest suburbs in the middle of the afternoon rush Thursday, after it hit a semi-trailer truck on the tracks.

Metra Heritage Corridor Train 915 was stopped near Lemont, according to Metra.

As seen from CBS Skywatch, the truck remained upright at the scene and did not seem to be seriously damaged. No injuries were reported.

But the train, which had been scheduled to arrive in Joliet at 4:56 p.m., remained stopped nearly an hour later.

Extensive delays were expected.
