Metra Removes Two Engineers After Incidents On Rock Island Line

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two Metra engineers are removed from duty after what passengers describe as wild rides on the Rock Island Line.

They describe two incidents -- one just on Monday -- when trains suddenly tilted and reportedly came close to derailing.

In a statement, Metra is investigating and says it's received several complaints.

"Metra is issuing a bulletin to all operating personnel to remind them of the importance of safe operating procedures."

The travel agency says that all track, signals and equipment have been tested and are functioning properly based on a preliminary review.
