Metra: Woman's Body Found Near Ravenswood Station

(STMW) -- A woman was found dead near Metra train tracks Friday evening in the Lake View neighborhood on the North Side.

A crew member on Union Pacific North Line Train 355 spotted the body of a female about 6:15 p.m. near Barry and Ravenswood avenues between the Clybourn and Ravenswood Metra stations, according to Katie Dahlstrom, a Metra spokeswoman.

Dahlstrom said she was struck by a train just after noon, but it was not clear which train had struck her.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified her as 25-year-old Davida Crystal Mastne Douthit, who lived in the North Center neighborhood on the North Side. An autopsy to determine the cause and manner of her death was scheduled for Saturday.
