CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot in the South Shore neighborhood Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old got into an argument with a "known offender" outside in the 7800 block of South Bennett Avenue about 9:15 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The other person left, returned with a gun and shot the 22-year-old in the groin and buttocks, Greer said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stable late Wednesday.
