Man Killed When Train Hits Car In Blue Island

BLUE ISLAND (CBS) -- One person is dead after a car was hit by a Metra train in south suburban Blue Island.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. on Sunday at 119th Streets and Marshfield.

A train on Metra's Rock Island line hit the vehicle, flipping it over and killing Donald Cook, 27, of Robbins.

A Metra officia said the gates and lights were working, and Cook went around the lowered gates.
