Man dies in fire at Back of the Yards residence, police say
A man is dead after a fire at a residence on the city's Southwest Side Sunday afternoon.
The fire happened in the 4700 block of South Damen Avenue, around 3:18 p.m.
They said the victim, only described as an adult male of unknown age, was inside a residence when a fire happened from inside.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Area detectives are investigating.
