Man Charged In Armed Robbery, Slashing On CTA Platform

(CBS) – A 48-year-old Chicago man has been charged in connection with a robbery and knife attack on a female CTA rider in the Loop earlier this week.

Casser Williams is charged with one count of felony armed robbery and one count of felony aggravated battery. Chicago police identified him as the suspect who harmed a 24-year-old woman who was standing on a Blue Line's Clark/Lake subway platform early Friday.

Williams allegedly slashed the woman's face with a knife and stole her cell phone before fleeing and being captured by police with the help of witnesses.

The robbery victim was treated for a laceration to the face.
