Major Delays On Metra's BNSF Line

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Trains in both directions on Metra's BNSF line were halted due to "a pedestrian incident" during the Thursday morning rush hour.

The pedestrian was fatally struck by an equipment train near Stanley and Grove avenues in Berwyn at 7:45 a.m., according to Metra spokesman Tom Miller. There were no passengers on board the train.

The BNSF runs between Aurora and downtown.

Trains were operating again as of 11 a.m.

Train Nos. 1254, 1256, 1258 and 1262 were cancelled.
