Levine: Adam LaRoche Out With Back Spasms

GLENDALE, Ariz. (CBS) -- The injury bug hit White Sox camp on Saturday. First baseman/designated hitter Adam LaRoche was removed from his second Cactus League game with back spasms. LaRoche hit his first home run of the spring Thursday. On Saturday, he had two at-bats before removing himself from the lineup.

LaRoche was evaluated by the White Sox medical staff and sent home Sunday to rest.

"There was no MRI or nerve damage," White Sox team official Ray Garcia said. "He is day-to-day and will be re-evaluated on Monday."

LaRoche had the worst season of his career in 2015, hitting .207 with 12 home runs and 44 RBIs. He signed a two-year $25-million contract with Chicago in November 2014.
