CHICAGO (CBS) -- Bond was denied Sunday for a man who was charged with shooting three people early Saturday in the North Side Lakeview neighborhood.

Officers were in the area about 2:45 a.m. when they heard several gunshots in the 900 block of West Oakdale, according to Chicago Police. They then saw 22-year-old Ricky Smothers with a gun in his hand and took him into custody.

A 24-year-old man who was shot in the calf was treated and released from Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. A 24-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the calf was also taken to Masonic, where she was listed in good condition. A 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the foot was taken to St. Joseph Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

Smothers, of the 1600 block of West Lunt, was charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault of a peace officer with a weapon, three felony counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and a misdemeanor count of possession of ammunition without a FOID card, police said.

A judge ordered him held without bond Sunday, according to the Cook County sheriff's office. His next court date is Nov. 4.
