Lake Shore Drive Lane Closures Begin Wednesday On South Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Temporary lane closures on Lake Shore Drive will begin Wednesday on the South Side to install bridge pylons on the 35th Street bridge.

The two western lanes on southbound Lake Shore Drive will shut down between 31st and 35th streets from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, according to a statement from Chicago Department of Transportation.

The bridge is one of five new or rebuilt bridges that will improve access from the South Side to the lakefront, CDOT said.
