Highs in the upper 70s Friday in Chicago, warm weekend ahead

Gorgeous weekend in Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) — Another round of patchy, dense fog is expected Saturday morning, especially in lakefront communities, but otherwise, comfortable temperatures and mainly clear skies prevail.

CBS

Saturday may bring the warmest temperatures of the year as southwest winds and sunshine push temperatures well into the 80s. A weak cool front drops temperatures into the 60s/70s Sunday -- coolest near the lake -- and brings an isolated late-day storm.

Tuesday next week will bring the threat of heavy rain and severe storms as a more potent system heads our way from the Plains. Stay with the First Alert Weather team as we monitor the storm's progress.

CBS

Tonight: Mostly clear with patchy fog. Low: 58

Saturday: Partly cloudy. High: 86

Sunday: Partly cloudy with isolated rain. High: 78
