Suburban Man Charged With Posting Threats To Kill Police, Children On Facebook

(CBS) --A Ford Heights man is accused of making threats against police and children on Facebook, reports WBBM's Mike Krauser.

Aries Woodfin, 33, is alleged to have posted on Facebook that he intended to kill police officers and innocent white children. Woodfin is black and his threats were discovered as police nationwide are on alert in light of the assassinations of two police officers in New York.

Police were informed of the alleged posting by a woman from out of state. The Sun Times reports that when he was arrested, Woodfin allegedly told police that he was a "warrior" and that "streets would run red with blood."

Police say they found a .45 caliber handgun in the home and a makeshift gun range in the basement where he had been shooting.

Woodfin is a convicted felon with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon among other things in his criminal history. The current charges include a felony for possession of the gun and three misdemeanors.

He has been denied bond.
