Man Found Dead On Red Line Train On South Side
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was found dead on a Red Line train early Tuesday on the South Side, police said.
The man, thought to be in his 40s, was found unresponsive in a train car about 2:30 a.m. near the 63rd Street Station at 220 W. 63rd St., according to Chicago Police.
He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
Area South detectives are conducting a death investigation.
Red Line trains were temporarily halted due to the incident, but on the move again by 3:15 a.m. and experiencing residual delays. Customers were urged to use the No. 22, 29, and 151 buses.
