Cold start for March this weekend in Chicago

As meteorological winter begins Saturday, much colder air blows into the area and lingers all weekend.

Morning wind chill temperatures drop to the single-digits early Saturday, then high temperatures remain below freezing.

Sunday morning brings low temperatures in the 10s, but a warmer and more pleasant afternoon.

Next week, a series of spring storms brings occasional chances of rain and snow to the area. The most significant impacts locally appear to come Tuesday and Wednesday.
