Chicago Sports Store On Michigan Avenue Goes Up In Flames During Protests

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A major fire broke out at a sports store on Michigan Avenue near Wacker Drive amid protests on Michigan Avenue Saturday night.

As CBS 2's Jeremy Ross reported, the fire was raging at the Chicago Sports store at 332 N. Michigan Ave.

Someone with a skateboard busted in and others followed and started looting, and by 10:36 p.m., the store was in flames.

The fire spread to the second and third floors of the three-story building.

A total of 10 to 12 firefighters rushed to the scene.
