Chicago man charged with attempted murder in West Englewood stabbing

A Chicago man was charged in the stabbing that left another man critically injured in the West Englewood neighborhood this week.

Timothy Johnson, 38, was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 6200 block of South Wolcott Avenue. He was charged with felonies of attempted murder and aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon.

Chicago police said Johnson was identified as the person who stabbed the victim in the 6300 block of South Ashland Avenue about 10 minutes before his arrest.  

He is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing on Saturday.
