CFD crews battle warehouse fire on Near West Side

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A massive warehouse fire on the city's Near West Side is under control after burning for six hours. 

The fire began around 9 p.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of West Fulton Street. 

Smoke and flames were seen shooting from the roof of the 1.5-story warehouse, with multiple parts of the building caved in as a result. Hazmat crews were on the scene, which was upgraded to a 3-11 alarm.

People's Gas struggled to shut off the line to the building that fueled the fire for hours. They were able to cut the gas after two hours, and the fire was struck out.

The fire was extinguished around 4 a.m. 

No injuries were reported Sunday morning.
