Brush Fire Halts Some Metra Service On South Side

(STMW) -- A brush fire along railroad tracks on the South Side has halted a Metra train Thursday afternoon.

Metra Southwest Service train 819, which was scheduled to arrive in Orland Park at 3:46 p.m., was stopped near 47th Street, according to Metra's website.

There is a brush fire adjacent to the train tracks there, according to Metra.

The Chicago Fire Department did not immediately respond to a call for information.
