Bears Sign LB Jonathan Anderson To Practice Squad

By Chris Emma--

(CBS) The Bears have signed linebacker Jonathan Anderson to their practice squad, just one day after elevating linebacker John Timu to the active roster.

Anderson has played 14 games with the Bears over the past two seasons, recording 41 tackles and an interception. He's started three games for Vic Fangio's defense.

Late last season, Anderson was replaced by Timu, who became the team's starter at inside linebacker. Anderson beat out Timu for a spot on the 53-man roster as the Bears broke the preseason for Week 1, and Timu passed through waivers to the practice squad.

On Wednesday, it was Anderson clearing waivers and returning to the Bears' practice squad.

The Bears (1-2) are preparing for Sunday's contest with the Lions (0-3) at noon from Soldier Field.
