Bears' Brandon Marshall Apologizes For Media Snub

(CBS) On his weekly Tuesday segment on Showtime's "Inside the NFL," Bears receiver Brandon Marshall apologized for refusing to speak to the media after Sunday's loss to the Packers, a game in which he had what coach Marc Trestman called a "miscommunication" with quarterback Jay Cutler that led to a crucial third-quarter interception by Green Bay.

"They're killing me right now," Marshall said of the press, according to the Chicago Tribune. "They're killing me right now. But, I have to say, these people in Chicago have really treated me good. And I need to give them more. I tried to channel my inner-Marshawn Lynch (by not talking.) And it didn't work for me. It didn't work for me."

Co-host Boomer Esiason then soon suggested team leaders have to accept responsibility in victory and defeat, which Marshall said he wanted to take steps toward.

"Well, I haven't done it all year," Marshall said. "Honestly. I haven't done it. I didn't do it in camp. And I didn't do it this year. And they have really been hounding me for the past three weeks. And I've got to give them a little more. That is my job.

"We're good."

Marshall didn't speak to reporters after a Week 1 loss to the Bills either. He did talk after a big performance in a Week 2 win against the 49ers. He is compensated for his appearances on "Inside the NFL," according to the Tribune.
