Aurora Police Release Surveillance Images Of Suspects In Fatal Armed Robbery

(CBS) -- Aurora police have released surveillance photographs of three suspects in an armed robbery of a social club on Sunday that left one man dead.

Police say the robbery took place at the Latin American Club in the 1300 block of Dearborn Avenue around 5:30 a.m. The suspects entered the club and demanded money from two men cleaning the building before beating them until they were unconscious, police said.

Each suspect was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and two of the suspects wore masks and the other had his face covered from the nose down. One of the suspects was armed with a large, machete-like knife, police said.

The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and liquor.

Both victims were hospitalized and 79-year-old Felipe Garcia died late Sunday night from his injuries. The other victim, a 55-year-old man, is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora Police Investigators at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000.
