2 Wounded In South Chicago Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two people were wounded, one critically, in a shooting early Sunday in the South Chicago neighborhood.

A 26-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were sitting in a vehicle at 12:52 a.m. in the 8500 block of South Kingston when shots were fired, Chicago Police said.

The man was struck in the abdomen and was taken to Trinity Hospital in critical condition, police said. He was expected to be be transferred to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The woman was struck in her left shoulder and was also taken to Trinity, where her condition was stabilized, police said.
