Woman in custody for stabbing 2 others on CTA Brown Line train

Two people were taken to the hospital after a stabbing on a CTA Brown Line train at the Clark/Lake station on Saturday evening.

A spokesperson for CTA said around 8 p.m., the operator of a northbound Brown Line train requested emergency responders due to a reported disturbance on board the train. 

According to the Chicago police, a woman was in a fight with two other women, 23 and 43, while on the platform. The suspect and the victims boarded the same train, where another altercation ensued, during which the two victims suffered cuts to their arms and hands. 

They were taken to Northwestern Hospital in good condition. The woman was later found and taken into custody.

Police did not say if any charges were pending.

Area 3 detectives are investigating.
