1 Killed, 1 Wounded In SW Side Shooting

(STMW) -- A man was shot to death and another wounded in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side on Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened about 3:10 p.m. in the 3100 block of West 84th Place, police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said, citing preliminary information.

A 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:39 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. His identity was not released Wednesday night.

A 19-year-old man shot in the leg was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, Lemmon said.

Details on the circumstances of the shooting were not available Wednesday night.
