Two Brothers Found Shot Dead In Lowell; Suspect Sketch Released
LOWELL (CBS) – Two Lowell brothers were found shot to death early Sunday morning and police are searching for a suspect.
Lowell police responded to a call about 2:30 a.m. for medical assistance at 105 Andrews St. and found two men with apparent gunshot wounds, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office reported.
Keith Callahan, 35, was dead at the scene. His brother, Joseph Callahan, 29, was taken to Lowell General Hospital where he later died.
Sources tell WBZ-TV the father of the two victims is retired Lowell Police Officer Richard Callahan.
Neighbors say they heard a barrage of bullets and called for help. Neighbors also say the second floor tenants had friends over but thought they went home. However, gunshots rang out in what sources told WBZ-TV could be the result of a home invasion.
Police have released a sketch of the suspect described as an Asian man, 25 - 35 years old, with a thin build and about 5' 6'' in height, according to the DA's office. He also has a mustache with a long goatee that runs one-half inch down from his chin. He has dark hair that he wears in a pony tail and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
