SUV Slams Into Chelsea CVS, Driver Killed

CHELSEA (CBS) – A driver was killed when an SUV slammed into a building in Chelsea early Monday morning.

Investigators say the man was speeding on 4th Street just before 1 a.m. when his 2001 GMC hit a sign post at the corner of Cherry Street and crashed into the corner of a CVS.

The damage to the CVS after the SUV was removed. (WBZ-TV)

The driver and his passenger were rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital.

The driver, identified only as a 35-year-old East Boston man, died.

The passenger, a 47-year-old East Boston man, is still in the hospital.
