Report: Tom Brady Reports To Patriots Training Camp

BOSTON (CBS) -- Tom Brady is getting back to work.

Still awaiting word on commissioner Roger Goodell's decision on the quarterback's appeal of a four-game suspension, Brady reported to Patriots training camp on Monday, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Veteran players aren't required to report to camp until Wednesday, but Reiss noted that NFL rules allow teams to require quarterbacks to report early.

So whether Brady showed up early on his volition or by team request is unknown, but the important news is that the soon-to-be-38-year-old is getting a jump on the 2015 season.

Last year, Brady completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 4,109 yards, 33 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He got even better in the playoffs, completing 68.9 percent of his passes for 921 yards (307-yard average), 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. Against the formidable Seattle defense, Brady earned Super Bowl MVP honors by going 37-for-50 for 328 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.

Brady appealed the NFL-issued four-game suspension for the quarterback's "general awareness" to Patriots staffers conspiring to take air out of footballs prior to the AFC Championship Game in January. Brady met with Goodell for more than 10 hours on June 23, but the commissioner has yet to announce a ruling.

The first full-team practice will take place Thursday, July 30. New England's first preseason game will take place Aug. 13 against the Packers at Gillette Stadium.
