Plane Makes Emergency Landing On Maine Golf Course

PARSONSFIELD, Maine (CBS) -- A small private plane made an emergency landing on a Maine golf course Sunday morning.

The York County Sheriff's Office said the pilot "encountered torrential rain and fog" after taking off from Maine's Waterville airport.

The pilot then decided to land his 1965 Piper Cherokee 140 on the second hole of Province Lake Golf Club, officials said.

The plane was pushed to the side of the golf course and will remain there until the FAA can investigate.
