Massachusetts State Police Issue 578 Warnings In First Week Of Hands-Free Driving Law

BOSTON (CBS) – Massachusetts State Police troopers issued 578 warnings to drivers in the first week of the state's hands-free law.

Drivers are no longer allowed to hold cell phones while driving. Anyone using their phone must have it in hands-free mode.

Police will continue to issue warnings until the end of March.

Beginning on April 1, drivers will face fines if stopped for cell phone use behind the wheel.
