Gresh & Zo's 2014 NFL Summer School: Denver Broncos

BOSTON (CBS) -  It's not your typical classroom. They're not your typical teachers. It's where you go after failing all year. It's Gresh and Zo's NFL Summer School on 98.5 The Sports Hub!

The breakdown continues as Andy Gresh takes our summer school tour to the Mile High city, where the guys breakdown and preview the upcoming 2014 season for the defending AFC Champion Denver Broncos..

Taking Attendance:

The Broncos lost running back Knowshon Moreno, wide receiver Eric Decker and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to free agency, but brought in pass rusher Demarcus Ware, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, safety T.J. Ward and cornerback Aqib Talib. They also drafted cornerback Bradley Roby and wide receiver Cody Latimer.

Gresh: "There's no doubt they've done a good job in bringing in big-name free agents, even going back last year to Wes Welker. Bringing in Ware, Ward and Talib means you're trying to fix what went wrong in the Superbowl, which was their inability to stop anybody. Health is a big factor for them and it'll be awhile before Latimer gets on the same page with Peyton Manning and that offense. I like Manny Sanders and I'm interested to see the dynamic between him and Welker, and how they use them."

Pop Quiz:

How would you match up the Patriots defensive personnel against the Broncos offense?

Gresh: "I'm putting Aqib Talib on Julian Edelman, Chris Harris on Kenbrell Thompkins, Danny Trevathan on Rob Gronkowski and find other ways to mix and match and see if they can beat me with Danny Amendola. The real question is how do they deal with Shane Vereen in the backfield?"

Fantasy 101:

Can Montee Ball be what Knowshon Moreno was last year?

Gresh: "No and no. Knowshon Moreno has a chance to be a 1,200 yard back, catch it and be a tough runner. I like Montee Ball, but he's a 1,000 yard rusher in the NFL in part because he'll get a lot of carries. I think at times Moreno had the chance to be spectacular. Ball is consistent, but I don't know if he's spectacular."

How much of Eric Decker's production can Emmanuel Sanders replace?

Gresh: "It's interesting. I think some of that production will be picked up by Demaryius Thomas, and Andre Caldwell to a degree. He's definitely going to get some of it, no question, but I think it'll be spread out evenly."

What can we expect out of Wes Welker in fantasy this season?

Gresh: "I think Welker is going to be a 70-to-75 catch, 800-to-850 yard, 7-to-8 touchdown kind of guy."

Final Grade:

Last year the Broncos went 13-3. The year before that they also went 13-3. The Vegas over/under has them at 11.5 wins. Where do they finish and do they make the playoffs?

Gresh: "Hit me. I'm going over on that one. I think they're a 12-to-13 win team and I think they're right there with the Patriots."
