Man Arrested In NH After Deadly Shooting Outside Everett Lounge

EVERETT (CBS) – A man was charged in connection with a fatal shooting outside an Everett lounge. Charles Demos, 29, of Rochester, N.H. was arrested Sunday in Seabrook, N.H.

A shooting on Ferry Street in Everett left one man dead Saturday (WBZ-TV)

Jarrod Harris, 47, was walking out of Karma Lounge on Ferry Street around 1 a.m. on Saturday and a fight broke out. "During the altercation Demos allegedly went to a vehicle that was parked nearby and obtained a firearm.  Demos allegedly pursued Harris, firing the gun multiple times and striking Harris twice. Good Samaritans on scene attempted to intervene before the shooting and also to render first aid," said the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.

Harris was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the D.A., Demos was arrested on charges of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm. He will be arraigned on a fugitive from justice charge in Rockingham District Court on Monday.

Another man, Joshua Demos, 35, was arrested on a federal probation violation at the same time Charles was taken into custody. That is unrelated to the Everett shooting.
