Daily Talker: More Pressure To Tip?

Technology is changing many aspects of our lives, especially when it comes to the way we pay for things.

You may have noticed that restaurants are increasingly using iPads or other tablets as a way for people to pay.  While the technology may make it more convenient to pay, it may also put pressure on people to tip more.

In the case of coffee shops and small eateries, customers have the option to pay with an iPad at the counter---in front of the server---a situation that may make people feel obligated to tip more.

The Globe cites a recent survey that found 41% of people say they are more likely to tip when the server is looking on.

What do you think?

Do you feel technology is putting pressure on you to tip more these days?
