Celtics Lose To Spurs 109-103

BOSTON (CBS) -- The San Antonio Spurs overcame a strong first quarter by the Celtics to leave Boston with a 109-103 win on Friday afternoon. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Celtics. Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard finished with 25 points in the win, while the Celtics' Isaiah Thomas scored 24.

The Celtics started strong, outscoring the Spurs 32-22 in the first quarter, but the Spurs battled back to outscore Boston 87-71 in the final three. The Spurs out-rebounded the Celtics 15-3 in the fourth.

Besides starting power forward Amir Johnson, who was held scoreless, the Celtics got solid offensive games out of their starters. Jae Crowder finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds, going 4-for-9 from beyond the arc, while Avery Bradley added 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 three-pointers. Big man Al Horford finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, adding three blocks.

San Antonio got huge contributions from their bench with 56 points, including 15 each for David Lee and Davis Bertans. Guard Patty Mills scored 19 points in just 24 minutes for the Spurs, including 2-of-3 from beyond the three-point line. The Spurs bench outscored the Celtics' reserves 56-30.
