Celtics @ 7: Busy Week For Celtics With Mixed Results

BOSTON (CBS) – The Celtics stand at 2-3 early in their season, but suffered one big loss on Friday night in a win over the Pacers.

Rookie Marcus Smart was taken off the floor on a stretcher with an ankle injury. The team confirmed, however, the guard's injury is a bad sprain and not a break, which should only result in a 2-3 week absence.

"Celtics @ 7" host Adam Kaufman led off with the Smart update and a review of a busy week for the C's on Saturday morning on 98.5 The Sports Hub.

Smart had been playing well in an energetic offense and aggressive defense, while Rajon Rondo has gotten off to a scintillating start.

Both players will miss tonight's showdown in Chicago against the 5-1 Bulls; Rondo for a minor surgical procedure to remove a screw from his left hand.

MetroWest Daily News Celtics writer Scott Souza joined the show in the segment segment to discuss Smart's injury, who will fill the void, Rondo's start, and much more.
