WORCESTER (CBS) – A Worcester man was jolted out of a sound sleep early Thursday morning when a car came crashing into his bedroom and came to a stop just feet from his head.

Terry Brouillette, 71, was sleeping in his Vernon Street apartment around 2:30 a.m. when he was awaken by a loud crash.

Brouillette told WBZ-TV's Nicole Jacobs that he turned the light to his bedroom on and was stunned to see a car nearly all the way in his room.

"If that wall wasn't there to stop the back tire, it would have landed right on top of me," said Brouillette.

Brouillette suffered only minor injuries during the crash, though the damage to the apartment he has lived in for 18 years was significant.

The Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported that there were three women and one man in the car at the time of the crash. According to the newspaper, a woman was charged with operating under the influence and other charges as a result.
