Brian Tyms Carted Off Field At Patriots Practice

BOSTON (CBS) -- Camp injuries take place around the league every single summer, and one struck the Patriots on Tuesday afternoon.

Wide receiver Brian Tyms went down with an injury during the afternoon session in Foxboro, and he needed assistance from a cart to get off the field.

Trainers were tending to Tyms' arm as he left the field. He suffered the injury during a tackling drill.

Tyms, 26, was a star of last year's preseason, when he emerged from virtually out of nowhere to catch a touchdown in each of the Patriots' first two preseason games last season.

During the regular season, he caught just five passes, but he did haul in a 43-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady in Buffalo.

He figured to be in the mix for more playing time this season, but Tuesday's injury -- if serious -- could obviously change that scenario rather quickly.
