Bear Caught On Video In Westford Yard

WESTFORD (CBS) – A homeowner in Westford got quite a surprise in his back yard recently.

Dave LeBleu said he was picking peppers on September 4 when a black bear wandered onto his property and started snacking on peaches from a tree.

The bear returned the next day to grab some grapes growing in the back yard.

Lebleu shot some video of the bear's visit as proof.

He says he wasn't afraid, even though the bear was just 15 feet away.

Lebleu said the bear was pre-occupied and had plenty to eat.

Experts say you should never approach a bear and making noise usually helps to scare them off.

They suggest raising your arms up, clapping and yelling, then backing away slowly.
