3 Stabbed In West Roxbury Robbery Knife Fight

BOSTON (CBS) – Two workers and an accused robber were all stabbed in a violent fight inside a West Roxbury store late Wednesday night.

It started around 9:30 p.m. when a man walked into Familia Grocery on Grove Street with his dog, got into a fight with the owner and left.

Police said the man came back about a half-hour later with a knife and tried to rob the store.

"He went behind the counter, brandished a knife, and made a statement to like, 'give me something.' and that's when the owner defended himself," Boston Police Deputy Dennis White told reporters.

The owner and one of his employees fought him off.  All three ended up with non-life-threatening stab wounds.

The accused robber, Christopher Soderberg, was arrested and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

The owner came back to his store several hours later to clean up.  He told WBZ-TV the store will be open Thursday.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
