Winter Weather Advisory Through Monday Morning

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A winter weather advisory has been issued for counties north and west of the Baltimore metro area.

Tim Williams reports it will expire at 8 a.m. Monday.

A little wet snow and rain will linger into the evening. The system will track north of the area late tonight and by midday Monday.

Despite a bit of wintry mix until about midnight, this will mainly be rain in the city of Baltimore.

There could be slick spots and some icing for areas northwest of I-695. Areas near and just north of the Mason-Dixon line like Carroll, Frederick and Harford counties could see a bit more snow and sleet.

Precipitation will gradually come to an end on midday Monday. As the system exits, rain could mix with sleet or wet snow as cold air wraps around the back-end. Little or no accumulation is expected.

Temperatures will drop Monday evening so re-freezing is a concern late Monday into early Tuesday.
