High pressure over the Northeast Seaboard this morning will shift off the coast later this afternoon.

A moisture-starved disturbance will drag a very weak cold front across the metro area later tonight accompanied by clouds and a few light showers. The front will depart east of Long Island by late morning allowing skies to turn mostly sunny as breezes from the northwest usher in drier air and a new high pressure zone builds from the Great Lakes toward the Ohio Valley.

The high will cross the Northeast Seaboard on Wednesday providing ample sunshine and a continuation of pleasant temperatures.

Another moisture starved cold front will approach from the northwest Wednesday night and cross the region on Thursday accompanied by a few patchy clouds but unlikely to be enough moisture to generate any showers.

A robust Canadian high pressure zone will re-build over the area at the end of the week, providing dry and cooler conditions.

The only "fly in the ointment" will be a developing easterly flow, which will gather some limited moisture from over the Atlantic and head inland, bringing some patchy clouds and just a slight chance for a sprinkle or spit of drizzle ... but still some sunshine around too.
