WEATHER BLOG: Calm Sunday

Sunday will turn out more tranquil than Saturday, certainly the "better day" of the weekend.

During the morning, residual moisture will allow for some clouds. After noon, dry air will work into most levels of the atmosphere, promoting a general clearing of skies. It will also be breezy at times. But as low- and mid- level ridging works in during the afternoon, the winds should gradually relax.

Temperatures will be comfortable for this time of the year, a solid 10 degrees above the climatological normal. The core of the ridge will be quick to move east of the region Sunday night, allowing for a south-southwesterly flow at the surface and temperatures above climatology.

High pressure slides off the Atlantic Coast Monday as southerly flow continues ahead of our next front, making for another mild day and a pleasant start to the work week. We believe that Monday starts off mainly sunny, but an increase in cloud cover occurs during the afternoon courtesy of warm advection.
