Washington County Officials Investigating Bank Robbery

CLEAR SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Authorities in Washington County are investigating the robbery of a bank in Clear Spring.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says it happened Saturday around 9:15 a.m. at the M&T Bank on South Mill Street. The sheriff's office says a man entered the bank and gave a note to a teller demanding cash. The sheriff's office says the man then left with an undisclosed amount of money.

The sheriff's office says the man fled in a grey Hyundai Elantra with Pennsylvania license plates and that they chased the car before losing sight of it. The sheriff's office described the man as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and said he was wearing a light colored zip-up jacket and a baseball cap.
