Tropical Storm Danny Now A Category 1 Hurricane

MIAMI (AP) -- Tropical Storm Danny is now a officially a category 1 hurricane and is moving slowly across the Atlantic.

Marty Bass has a First Warning Weather update.

Danny's maximum sustained winds Thursday morning reached 75 mph.  The U.S. National Hurricane Center says some strengthening is still possible.

The storm is centered about 1,200 miles (1,930 kilometers) east of the Lesser Antilles and is moving west near 12 mph.

The storm does not currently pose a threat to any land.
