College loan debt is not just squeezing young students it's also affecting many of their parents.

A new study finds school loans increasingly belong to Americans over 40.

It accounts for about 35 percent of education debt.

Generation X parents who carry student debt and have teenage children are struggling to put away money for their child's education.

Those parents owe as much as millennials, 34 and younger.
